Diagnosis
What this notice means
Within a trip, shape_dist_traveled stays the same or decreases as stop_sequence increases.
Operational effect
Why it matters
The distances can place stops on the wrong part of the trip's shape, especially on loops.

Repair
How to fix it
- 1
Compare the reported row with
prevCsvRowNumberinstop_times.txtand check the actual stop order. - 2
Recalculate cumulative distances along the correct shape, using the same units as
shapes.txt. Preserve enough precision for consecutive values to increase; do not invent increments. - 3Check the result
After a repair, rebuild the archive and validate it again. Confirm that the affected records are correct and that no new related notices appeared. A reviewed warning or informational notice may remain when it describes intentional, supported data.
